Belief Statement

What we believe, in brief

  • We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative written Word of God and that our lives should be lived in accordance with its teachings.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ and affirm that He was fully God and fully man.

  • We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that man receives salvation through faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and that the presence of saving faith is revealed by a life characterized by repentance of sin and lived in obedience to the will of God.

  • We believe regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost, sinful man.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a life in accordance with God’s Word.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, those who are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of condemnation.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • We believe the chief end of man to be to glorify God.

  • We believe marriage to be a holy institution inaugurated by God to be between one man and one woman.

  • We believe the foregoing Statement of Faith (SOF) accurately represents the teaching of the Bible and our beliefs in a nutshell. Our official SOF as contained in our Articles of Faith can be requested by contacting the church office.

Philosophy of ministry in 5 passages

15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Colossians 1:28–29 (ESV)

28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.

Ephesians 4:11–13 (ESV)

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

Philippians 2:3–4 (ESV)

3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Acts 2:42 (ESV)

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
